Autoimmune Disease Treatment with Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy has been used in the treatment of autoimmune diseases. In normal working conditions, the immune system is meant to protect you by identifying foreign substances and informing the body’s defense system (antibodies) to ward off these substances. When you have an autoimmune disease, your immune systems fails to correctly differentiate such unsafe substances from healthy body cells, and causes the body to attack itself.
People suffering from conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic low back pain, and osteoarthritis are advised to seek cryotherapy as soon as possible to ease their symptoms and return to normal life. Overall, autoimmune diseases are common, affecting more than 23.5 million Americans. They are a leading cause of death and disability. Yet some autoimmune diseases are rare, while others, such as Hashimoto’s disease, affect many people.
In a 2000 study on Whole Body Cryotherapy and the treatment of rheumatoid disease, patients reported a significant reduction in pain levels. The pain reduction lasted an average 90 minutes and participants hailed cryotherapy as a critical part of their rehabilitation program.

WBC treatments work by subjecting the patient’s skin to controlled levels of gasiform liquid nitrogen. The treatment is conducted in a device called a cryochamber. During a session, bursts of nitrogen are circulated around the chamber, directed away from the patient’s skin. The bursts serve to maintain the therapeutic temperature. In a typical 3 minute session, 10 second bursts are released with 20-30 second pauses between them. The ambient temperature in the chamber is maintained at -200 to -250°F throughout the course of treatment.

During Cryotherapy, the brain sends signals to all parts of the body via the nervous system to determine if and what extent different parts of the body are compromised. This helps the body allocate enough resources to different parts of the body. If you attended your therapy in the early stages of infection, your brain will discover the malfunctions early enough enabling the body to re-adjust before the damage is life-threatening. Once your brain is “re-focused,” it will realize that your body is fighting against itself and will command the antibodies to stop killing your healthy cells.

Come in today and "chill" away your problems today!!
