“Chill” your blues away and battle fatigue.

Most people suffer from some form of fatigue on a somewhat regular basis. There can be many causes, such as an illness or mental or physical exertion. A good night sleep alone cannot relieve most fatigue. Acute fatigue is chronic and last anywhere from one to six months or more. Your quality of life, as well as energy levels could be affected because it is such a debilitating condition. Doctors see fatigue as a serious health hazard that can go undetected.
Never underestimate the consequences of chronic fatigue.  Many physicians consider prolonged fatigue, the type that lasts for more than six months, a symptom of a serious illness and it definitely needs proper diagnosis. There are many things that can lead to chronic fatigue such as a sedentary lifestyle, aging, infections, pregnancy and persistent chronic illnesses like those of diabetes, anemia, heart, lung and kidney diseases.

How does cryotherapy work to alleviate the debilitating symptoms of fatigue? As you enter the cryochamber the sudden drop in heat stimulates the temperature receptors, promoting the brain to transmit messages throughout the body which forces blood to the body’s core in an attempt to regulate itself. When you exit the chamber, the blood is pumped vigorously throughout the body which in turn enhances the oxygen supply which prompts the removal of toxins. Also, the cold triggers the nervous system to release endorphins creating an increase in energy levels. One of these endorphins is serotonin which reduces sleep deprivation and enhances overall mood. Therefore, cryotherapy can elevate physical, chemical and mental fatigue if done on a regular basis.  While it will not alleviate the problem completely, in conjunction with exercise and diet, fatigue can be kept to an absolute minimum.
